🐾 Dogs Do Not Care About Your Excuses (And That’s the Point)

I’ve heard every excuse going.

And —I get it.

Life is busy. You’re tired. Things hurt. Motivation isn’t always there.

But here’s the reality…

You should always aim to be stronger than your excuses.

My dog ..

She doesn’t accept any of them.

🐶 The Ultimate Excuse-Buster

• Slept 3 hours? → Dog still needs a walk

• Worked 12 hours? → Dog still needs a walk

• Injured → Dog still needs a walk

• Hungover? → Dog still needs a walk

• Raining? Freezing? Boiling hot? → Dog still needs a walk

• Late night, early start? → Dog still needs a walk

I’ve tried every excuse in the book…

None of them work.

She still wants to go.

She still needs to go.

And somehow… I always manage it.

šŸ¤” So Why Do We Accept Excuses From Ourselves?

This is the interesting bit.

We’ll move heaven and earth for:

• Our dog

• Our kids

• Our job

But when it comes to our own health?

We negotiate. Delay. Avoid.

We lower the standard.

šŸ”„ It’s Not About Doing Everything… It’s About Doing Something

Now, let’s be clear—this isn’t about smashing yourself every day.

Some days:

• The walk is shorter

• The pace is slower

• The route is flatter

• The workout is lighter

But it still happens.

Because there is always an alternative.

Tired legs? → Skip the hills

No time? → Get up earlier - shorten the walk

Bad weather? → Adjust, don’t cancel

Modify the plan. Don’t abandon it.

šŸ’„ The Bit No One Argues With

Here’s the thing I’m 100% sure of:

šŸ‘‰ You always feel better after you move.

Not once have I gone out for a walk, a workout, or even just 10 minutes of movement and thought…

ā€œI wish I hadn’t bothered.ā€

But I have regretted not doing anything .

🚫 Let’s Be Honest…

Some excuses?

They’re just… weak.

(Not all—but some.)

And deep down, you know the difference.

I’m not saying I don’t sympathise—because I do.

I live it. I feel it. I’ve used the same excuses.

But just like with my dog…

Excuses aren’t accepted. Adjustments are.

šŸ”„ The Takeaway

You don’t need perfect conditions.

You don’t need loads of time.

You don’t need motivation.

You just need to start.

Because whether it’s a walk, a workout, or 10 minutes squeezed into your day…

Doing something will always beat doing nothing.

If your dog wouldn’t accept your excuse…

Maybe you shouldn’t either šŸ¾šŸ’Ŗ
